What is Nonfarm payrolls (NFP)?
EconomyThe monthly count of US jobs added, outside farms. Released on the first Friday of most months at 8:30 a.m. New York time, and one of the biggest market movers.
Think of it like: The monthly health check of the US job market.
Real example: In July 2024 the US added 114,000 jobs against a forecast of 175,000, and stocks fell.
